Rock Demolition
and Tunnel
Construction

Targeted and controlled excavation of rock can be highly effective and rational and does not require blasting. Vibration, noise and dust generation depend on the rock, drilling pattern, operating setup and site controls and must be measured for the selected setup and compared with a defined alternative for the same task. With Darda Rock Splitting Cylinders, there is no need for time-consuming and costly protective measures, as well as permits. With the Darda splitting principle, up to 800 t splitting force can be generated manually and 1,800 t splitting force can be generated machine-guided in a targeted and controlled manner. Splitting direction and splitting course can be defined in advance. Noise, vibration, dust and flying-rock risks during splitting depend on the rock, drilling pattern, operating setup and site controls and must be assessed for the project; whether other work can continue in parallel must be determined for the site.

Splitting cylinders are suitable both in occupied environments, directly next to buildings, in basements, and in confined applications in mining and shaft sinking. They can also be used for driving cross-cuts in tunnel construction, as work can be carried out in any position within the working radius and also overhead.

Make the
Difference

Powerful and usable anywhere

World's strongest splitting cylinder in relation to size. Use even underwater.

Vibration, dust and noise depend on the setup

Suitability for populated areas, buildings, underground use and ongoing operations must be assessed for the selected setup.

Economic and safe

No time-consuming and costly safety measures. No stone rock – other work can continue in parallel.

Accurate

The direction and course of the split can be accurately defined in advance. Effects on the remaining material depend on the rock, drilling pattern and selected setup.
